SugarCRM Email Settings

Configuring SugarCRM email to work with your email account

Note: This tutorial applies to system-wide email settings for sending email campaigns and sending automatic notifications. For user-specific settings (for instance sending emails from the “emails” tab), please reference the user setup article.

  1. From the Admin panel > Email > Email Settings, you will be able to configure SugarCRM to send email using your already existing email account.
  2. Take a look at the below example to configure SugarCRM to send email using your Gmail account, we have also included examples for  Microsoft Exchange, SMTP and Yahoo accounts with the settings needed.
  3. Pressing the Gmail button will display the fields needed to setup SugarCRM to send email using your Gmail account.
  4. First modify the “From” Name and Address field to how you would like the sent email to display who the email is from.
  5. Next enter your Gmail email address and Password, then press Send Test Email to verify that the settings entered are correct. Enter an email address you would like the test to be sent to and a verification email will be sent to the email account you entered.
  6. There is an option to allow your team to send emails using this account, select the “Allow users to use this account for outgoing email” box to do so, else your team members can enter their own email account information under their personal email settings to use for outgoing email .

Additionally in the Email Options section, you can select to have an email sent to the team member when a record is assigned to them. Furthermore, there is an option to have the email sent when a record is assigned to another team member to come from the users email address that created or re-assigned the record.
